You can download from BlackBerry App World: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/2051 or from www.nrange.com:

1. Run BlackBerry Internet Browser. Options -> Browser Configuration -> Browser Identification -> Set to "Firefox" -> Save
2. Go to www.nrange.com. Click "Free Download" link.
3. Click "Download directly on phone!". Choose your BlackBerry model.

TIPS:

If your BlackBerry OS version is lower than or equal to 4.6, please use the following instruction to download:

1.     Run BlackBerry Internet Browser.

2.     Go to Options:

3.     Select Browser configuration:

1.     Set Browser Identification to “BlackBerry” :

1.     Go to www.nrange.com on the browser:

1.     Click on “Free Download” link after the page is loaded successfully.

Note: You can download previous version of the application using “Download previous version”.

1.     Check “Set Application Permissions” on download screen. Then click “Download”.

8. Set permission for the application: Connections -> Location Data & Internet -> Set to ALLOW. User Data -> Set to ALLOW:

9.     Once the application is downloaded and installed successfully, you will see the following screen:

 

 

1. You will see the registration screen when you run the app for the first time on your BlackBerry.
2.
Fill your email address on “Email” field, which is required. And optional Zip code field. If you agree the Terms of Service, you should check “I agree to the Terms of service” then click on “Submit” button to continue.

3. You will see the following screen and receive verification email, after registration is successful. You should click on “Verify” link in the email received.

If you upgrade your BlackBerry OS or recover your BlackBerry settings, you will not receive verification email.

Attention! You will receive verification email to your submitted email address shortly after registration. Please make sure that email address has been entered correctly. If you didn’t receive verification email, please let us know at nrange@nrange.com.

If you do not verify your email address within 48 hours after registration, you will see the following screen:

In to order to fix it, you should click “Verify Email Address” section. You will see the dialog screen below:

 

TIPS:

1.     If your GPS service is turned off or your BlackBerry device doesn’t have a GPS chip, you will see following screen:

In this case, you should make sure the following settings :

Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> GPS Services -> Location On.

Here is how to set the Location On option:

4.      Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> GPS Services -> Location ON.

2.     If you are getting error message “Unable to contact with server”, you should run “Network Detection” option from the menu:

2.      Click the “Run Auto Detection” on a pop-up screen below:

3.      It will verify whether connection is detected or not:

4.      If internet connection has not been detected, please send us your Network Carrier and BlackBerry device model at nrange@nrange.com.

 

Welcome to nRange:

1. Continue on playing the course that you played most recently:

If you are using free version and selected 3 courses already, in order to load the last played course you should select the one with asterisk ‘*’ sign prefix. For example: On the following screen, Jefferson Park Golf Course is the most recently played course here:

2. Search all the courses by course name:

3.  Search the all courses by zip code:

4. Search nearby courses:

(Storm/Storm2/Torch):

If you press on “Escape/Back” button, you will see larger map screen:

In this screen condition, “Escape” or “Hole 1” button press will direct back to green layout screen.

Non-touch screen(Tour/9700/8530/9330…etc):

In order to change the current hole manually, you should click on label “Hole 1” (shown above). The hole number list will appear as shown below:

Map screen.

(Storm/Storm2/Torch) If you want to see full map screen, you should select “Full Map” menu from the menu list. Once successfully switched to “Full Map” option, the screen will appear as follows:

Yardage Screen Menus:

Memory Management.

You will see “Memory Management” screen when you click on “Map” button for the first time.

You should select a directory to save and cache limit for the maps, and click on “Submit” button. Save directory can be internal memory or SDCard.

TIPS:

You can find this screen through Welcome Screen or Yardage Screen ->

My Account (via menu) -> Memory Management(via menu).

The hot keys for yardage screen:

 

M - Move/Hold target

I - Zoom in

O - Zoom out

T – Rotate the map to left

Y – Rotate the map to right

N – Go to Next hole

P – Go to Previous hole

To rotate the map, you can do circular motion with finger on the compass shown below:

In order to enter your scoring info, you should click “Score” button on Yardage screen.

1. You will see dialog box screen as below when you click on “Score” button for the first time.

2.   You should first select the tee you are going to play.

“Add/Edit Teebox”. If it does not include tee that you are playing, you can add a tee using “Add a new teebox” button. Also you can edit teebox info such as Rating, Slope, Name using “Edit Selected teebox” button. Scorecard has separate selections for Men’s Par(Handicap) and Ladies’ Par(Handicap). You can set it in “2. Pars” section.

If a particular course does not have scorecard info, you should add teebox you are playing. (The following screen will appear on “Score” button click. If you don’t have scorecard info, please send us a request for scorecard of that course at nrange@nrange.com. We will add a scorecard for you.)

3.  After teebox selection, score entry screen appears as follows:

Score-entry screen:

a) Par (you’ve selected men’s or ladies’ par), b.

b) Distance of tee,

c) Handicap (the same as par men’s handicap or ladies’ handicap),

d) Driving distance, score(between 0-12),

e) Putts(between 0-10),

f) Green in regulation (default value is “Yes”),

i) Fairway (Values: Missed to left, Missed to right, and Yes. Default value is “Yes”),

g) Sand shots(between 0-10),

k) Penalties (between 0-10).

4. Menu options for Score-Entry screen.

a)                 “Save Score”: Saves your scoring.

b)                 “Change Teebox”: You can change and edit tees you select.

c)                 “Add Friends”: You can track your friends’ score. If you wish to add someone (max 5 friends), you can use this menu. Scores will appear in “Scorecard” screen.

d)                 “View Full Scorecard”: Switches to “Scorecard” screen.

e)                 “Back to Yardage Screen”.

5. Scorecard screen. This screen includes “Back Nine”, “Change Teebox”, “Add Friends”, “Post Round” and “Scorecard Setup” menu options. Hot key to switch between front nine and back nine is “Space” keyboard button.

6. Menu options for scorecard screen.

a)     “Back Nine”: Saves your scoring.

b)     “Change Teebox”: You can change and edit tees you select.

c)     “Add Friends”: You can track your friends’ score. If you wish to add someone (max 5 friends), you can use this menu. Scores will appear in “Scorecard” screen.

d)     “Post Round”: Posts your round.

e)     “Scorecard Setup”: If you want to change scorecard info, use this option.

f)       “Manage Stats”: Manages stats for scoring. For example: If you don’t want to track Sand shots, you should set “Sand shots” to off on “Manage Stats” screen.

You can view scorecard screen using “Scorecard” menu option from Yardage screen.

In order to post (save) your round, you should click “Post score” button on scorecard screen. Also there is a menu option “Post Round”.

If you entered scoring info, the application will ask you “Do you want to post your score and email it to you?” before closing. If you wish to continue playing later on, you should select “Exit” option.

7.  You can access your previously posted scorings through “Round History” menu option.

8. Setup scorecard info.

If the course does not have scorecard info, following screen shows when “Score” button is clicked on Yardage screen. When user clicks “Add a new teebox” button “Teebox Setup” screen shows up.

The course does not have scorecard info.

Adding a new teebox. “Name” field is required to a new teebox. Name must not be duplicated with existing tee name(s). Rating and Slope fields are optional.

After tee has been successfully added, the score-entry screen appears as follows. For current hole, par value is required. Distance and handicap fields are optional.

Example of an empty Scorecard is shown below. You can use trackball click to edit any hole. The app will show score-entry screen for a selected hole.

If you wish to set up the whole scorecard information, you can use “Scorecard Setup” menu.

You will see the following screen:

Once you finished entering information for all holes, you should post the scorecard as follows:

 

 

You can access to your account information from Welcome screen or Yardage screen. There is a menu option labeled “My Account”.

TIPS:

          You can edit or delete round information from your round history using a web browser.

1.      Go to http://www.nrange.com/roundhistory/

2.      Enter your email address. Click "Submit". You will receive a link to your email that enables you to edit or delete your rounds.

You can get Round Statistics from Round History screen by pressing “Enter” button:

 

 

 

You can change your email address though the app. Follow the further steps:

Run -> Welcome Screen (by menu) -> My Account (by menu) -> Change Email Address(by menu).

You will receive a verification email, once you change your email address. Click “Verify” link on the email received. Reopen the app.

 

Choose “My Account” menu from welcome screen or yardage screen. Then click on “Memory Management” from menu options.

My Account -> Should be checked (Enable) “Automatically change to the next hole when you close to the green?”

My Account -> Should be checked (Enable) “Automatically display score screen when you close to the green?”.

My Account -> Should be unchecked (Disable) “Aerial Map”.

My Account -> “Distance Unit” should appear as “Meters”.

Please verify your email “Spam” folder for a verification email. You can verify your email address through the app. You should click on “Verify Email Address”. The app asks you “This is your email address. Is it right one?” If yes, verify it, otherwise, change your email address.

1.       Go to http://www.nrange.com/roundhistory/

2.       Enter your email address. Click "Submit".

3.       You will receive a link to you email. Open the link.

You can set up scorecard using “Scorecard Setup” feature:

1.      Yardage screen -> Scorecard(by menu) -> Scorecard Setup.

2.      After changes have been completed, click “Post Scorecard” in order to save.

If you are sure that BlackBerry device does have GPS, you can verify the following:

Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> GPS Services -> Location On.

 

 

Unfortunately Alltel and Verizon restrict Location Service for third part applications if your BlackBerry OS is lower than or equal to 4.5.
You can try the following to unlock it:

1.      From the home screen, go to Options -> Status.

2. Type "test" to launch the Device Self Test Application.
3. Press trackball, and select Start.
4. Toggle the GPS radio button on.
5. Click on Run to launch the GPS Test.
6. Press trackball, and select Start Fixing.
7. Wait for GPS Info to update.
8. Press trackball, and select Skip All.
9. Select Yes.
10. From menu, select Delete.
11. Select Yes.
12. From menu, select Close.
13. Select Yes.

I use the Hollux M1000. I found it on Amazon.com for $39.95. It also works well with BBMaps for Navigation. I like it because it is small and fits in my pocket on the golf course. I hope this helps

Please try this first:
1. Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> GPS Service -> Location ON.
2. Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> Location Data -> Disabled.
3. Options -> Advanced Options -> GPS -> Location Aiding -> Disabled.
4. Restart your BlackBerry device.
5. Reopen the app.

If above steps did not help, try the following:
1. From the Home screen, go to Options -> Status.
2. Type "test" to launch the Device Self Test Application.
3. Push trackball, and select Start.
4. Toggle the GPS radio button on.
5. Click on Run to launch the GPS Test.
6. Push trackball, and select Start Fixing.
7. Wait for GPS Info to update.
8. Push trackball, and select Skip All.
